Shalena knew she and her husband-to-be would not have the capacity to plan a wedding given their demanding jobs in addition to it being held across the country. Shalena interviewed lots of planners and vendors but when she connected with Rion Designs she felt like she met her soulmate, well, her other soulmate.
MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN
Shalena’s dog, Winston, an adorable Shitzu Poodle, served as matchmaker for these two. While strolling through a street festival in Philadelphia, Bloktoberfest, Scott fell instantly in love - with them both.
A busy exec and self-proclaimed Type A personality, she knew that she just didn’t have the time to invest in the minute details that were so important to her. Not to mention they were managing a long distance relationship, house-hunting, traveling weekly from Michigan to NYC all while interviewing for new jobs. She knew she had to find an alternative to planning her own wedding.
After connecting with Rion Designs she felt confident that “we got their vision” and she could trust our team with their day. Weekly conversations with Shalena and her Rion Planner were translated into the design, renderings, furniture and floral recommendations, venue and rehearsal dinner options, and a supporting vendor team that Shalena and Scott loved.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE
As most of the village resides under one roof - Rion Designs. Shalena + Scott could rest assured their planning, design, furniture, florals and decor were in excellent hands. No interviewing, screening and contracting with a plethora of vendors - we have experts in house for all.
For those needs not under the Rion umbrella, we compiled a vendor team that melded with Scott + Shalena’s needs and tastes, introduced them and then negotiated contracts on their behalf. Our years of experience and connections in the Napa Valley and Bay Area give us lots amazing places, artists and vendors from which to choose.

IN THE MOMENT
One thing Shalena knew for certain is that she wanted to enjoy the day - fully. She’d been to one too many weddings and seen where the bride didn’t get to fully relax and enjoy every moment. Thankfully, she recalls her wedding day as “blissfully stress free with a team I could trust.”
NEED TO KNOW BASIS
As much as we strive to keep everyone in the loop, if they choose, our brides are on a need to know basis on their big day. Our Planner checked in periodically with Shalena throughout the day, gave her sneak peeks of the event space and flowers and protected her from unforeseen blips - like when the Officiant got lost and our Planning Team drove to them and then escorted them personally to the venue.
